Bani Jaber Refugee Camp in Al-Hudaydah

Yemen
2018

This is a camp for displaced people sponsored by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre which has provided humanitarian air for some two years now. However, the Houthi militia bombed this camp at three different occasions over the past year. This bombardment resulted in a number of deaths and injuries every time the camp was bombed. Naturally, the majority of the victims were children and women. The reason for the repeated bombardment by the Houthis remains unknown, although most of those who are inside the camp are the civilians who had fled the city of Al-Khokha in the Hudaydah governorate on the west coast of Yemen. Needless to say, this was not the only camp bombed by the Houthi militias, but there are other IDP camps in the Hudaydah governorate that were bombed, too, in addition to several other sites that the Houthi militia targeted in the city of Taiz, which lies under their siege. These entire sites which were targeted by the Houthi militia were civilian sites full of inhabitants, residential areas,  markets, schools, playgrounds, etc.
